Kenya - Kevote AA Washed
Farmers in Kirurumwe Fcs planted their first coffee trees in I950 and kevote factory was started in 1957 by a group of 100 farmers. Currently, the Coop has 3 wet mills namely Kevote, Kianjuki and Ngaindethia with a total membership of 4500 members. The Coop is located within Makengi location of Runyenjes sub-county, in Embu County on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya about 150km north of Nairobi City.
Grown in the deep red volcanic soil of eastern Kenya, coffee cherries are selectively hand-picked and delivered to Kevote Coffee Factory for wet milling the same day. After pulping, the parchment is then fermented, washed and sun-dried.
